Youth and Society (YAS) said the sectors of Health and Education needs more funding to address challenges faced due to inadequate resources.

This was revealed during a community engagement meeting, yesterday in Rumphi.

YAS Executive Director Charles Kajoloweka said the education and health sectors have already used 90% of their allocation in the 2022/23 financial year.

According to Director of planning and development at Rumphi district council Frank Mkandawire, the council has used 73% of 1.1 billion kwacha which they were allocated in the financial year.

From the K355 million was allocated to health sector and K358 million allocated to education sector, K61 million went to agriculture sector.
