Margret Mambazo aged 18 has died after she threw herself into running waters of Likhubula Bridge in Mulanje on Tuesday night.

The deceased uncle, Aaron Likombola said his niece quarreled with her husband over a missing K50, 000.

According to Likombola, Margret and her husband quarreled before leaving her matrimonial house together with her elder sister at Mwanakhu for her home village at Kadewere.

Likombola said Margret jumped into the waters and rescuing her proved pointless and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mulanje district hospital.

Mulanje Police Spokesperson Sub-Inspector Innocent Moses said the matter is yet to be reported officially to police.
