Machinga district council has urged community members in the district to practice good hygiene to avoid the increase of cholera cases.
Machinga District Information Officer Martin Chiwanda said everyone should make sure that their surroundings are clean to prevent diseases especially cholera.
Chiwanda said the council has called for an emergency meeting aimed at finding other ways of how best to solve the problem.
According to Chiwanda, since February 2022, the district has registered 205 cases, 16 of which are new, with 10 deaths recorded.
