Veteran musician cum pastor Mlaka Mac Donald Maliro has been appointed as board member for Balaka Community Radio (BCR).
Both Maliro and the management for BCR have confirmed in a statement seen by this publication.
“Balaka Community Radio Management would like to inform the general public that pastor Mlaka Maliro has been appointed as Board Member for BCR,” read the statement.
While congratulating himself on the appointment, Mlaka said he has started the year with some good news.
Mlaka returned home from Eswatini after he resigned as a pastor for Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s led church Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) saying he wanted to focus on his music and his personal businesses.
But the ECG said the pastor had resigned following misunderstandings when his wife was subjected to church discipline on unknown crime she committed in the church.
He later made headlines after he released his single ‘vinyo watha’ in which the populace assumed that it was dedicated to his former boss and Bushiri described the song as the best.
