The Malawi Local Government Association (MALGA) has said it will proceed with its appeal against last year’s High Court order despite government’s move to effect the transfer of District Commissioners to their new working stations.

MALGA Executive Director, Hadrod Zeru Mkandawire, has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Mkandawire, the matter is in the hands of Justice Dingiswayo Madise of the Supreme Court, who has given an indication that he will soon give us days for hearing.

He said, “We do not agree with that decision of the Learned Judge of the High Court that MALGA does not have sufficient interest in the matter hence seeking the review”.
