On Monday, the Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, announced that the country has recorded 551 new cases of cholera, resulting in 16 deaths within the last 24 hours.
Since the outbreak began in March 2022, a total of 825 individuals have lost their lives, and 24,884 have been affected by the disease.
Chiponda emphasized the importance of everyone in the country taking action to prevent the further spread of the outbreak and urged strict adherence to preventive and control measures.
The cholera outbreak has affected all 29 health districts in the country, with the first case being reported in Machinga district.
