The Malawi Red Cross Society has urged stakeholders to aid in their efforts to combat the rising cholera outbreak in the country.
The society has a shortfall of K2.8 billion from their planned budget of K3.9 billion for cholera support.
Prisca Chisala, Director of Programs and Development, made the appeal after visiting the Limbe health center in Blantyre.
The center is currently facing issues with shelter, causing patients to share tents with their guardians.
The cholera outbreak has so far claimed 841 lives and infected 25,458 people in Malawi.
Deputy Director of Preventive Health Services, Aaron Ganizani, urged health and community workers to continue spreading awareness about the disease to prevent further spread.
