Two suspects, Abel Chipelesi, 34 and Joseph Maliro, 39 are behind bars in Lilongwe for alleged theft of assorted items worth millions of kwacha at the Central Region Water Board.

They reportedly connived with the board’s watchman and stole 231 Bip Taps worth K5 million, three desktop computers valued at K3.6 million, 107 Stock Cork at K1.5 million and nine other items all worth K12.4 million.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson, Hastings Chigalu reveals they have since recovered some items such as all desk computer sets, one of the seven leather boots, two of the seven work suits, reams of photocopying papers, and other items.

He said investigations are still underway to recover the remaining items.
