Thyolo District Medical Officer Dr. Dennis Solomon has confirmed that the new x-ray machine installed at Thekerani health center will soon start operating.
The new x-ray was installed on September 8th 2022.
According to Dr. Solomoni, the delay came because the contractor was completing the installation process and waiting for certification of the machine by the Atomic Regulatory Authority who failed test the machine due to a continues blackout in the district.
Dr. Solomon disclosed that the district is facing a huge call for the X-ray services at the district hospital from far places of Thekerani, Malamulo Mission Hospital and other districts.
In his words, Member of Parliament for Thyolo South-Thekerani, Mavuto Sandram Scott, said the installation of the machine is a huge help to the patients in the area who are having to spend over K7,000 to access the service at the main district hospital.
