Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) director General Martha Chizuma is facing a new legal challenge as a high court judge Simeon Mdeza is suing her over leaked audio which she discussed sensitive matters with a third party.

According to court documents this publication has seen, the lawsuit pertains to her statement accusing the judge of corruption.

The documents then invited Chizuma for a plea taking today at the Chief Resident Magistrate Court sitting in Lilongwe.

However, Chizuma’s attorney, Martha Kaukonde, stated that they have yet to receive the court documents and it is unlikely that her client will appear in court.

This comes after the state reportedly withdrew charges against Chizuma, following a complaint from former Director of Public Prosecutions Steven Kayuni regarding the same audio.
