The ministry of Homeland and Security has revealed that the ministry is preparing to introduce digital identity cards in the country.
The ministry said this on Thursday during District Executive Committee meeting in Dedza.
According to the ministry’s principal secretary, responsible for the National Registration Bureau (NRB) Mphatso Augustine Sambo, the country has been spending millions of kwacha printing the physical identity cards, a thing to deal with costs.
In addition to that, Sambo said the present identity cards will not be phased out soon.
