For men are in police custody in Chitipa for allegedly assaulting to death an elderly person.
The incident happened last week.
Publicist for Chitipa police Hope Nyalinyali explains that the deceased Jamu Chizumila was severely, beaten by villagers from Mweneitulo Village in the area of Senior Chief Mwenemisuku in the district.
It is alleged that this happened due to his failure to take part in a development project involving construction of a school building.
Chizumila died on arrival at Chitipa District Hospital and medics attributed his death to severe head injuries.
