The female police officer who allegedly filmed an explicit video while raping her son is today scheduled to appear at the Marble Hall Magistrates Court in Limpopo for her bail application.
An explicit video of the incident was widely circulated on social media and the boy has since been moved to a place of safety and is receiving counselling.
The South African previously reported, the female police officer is reportedly based at Groblersdal SAPS in Limpopo.
Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said soon after becoming aware of the video, the police Commissioner in the province, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe ordered the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit to conduct an immediate probe into the incident.
Mojapelo said police opened a case of rape of a minor child with additional charges of creating and distributing child pornographic material and sexual grooming of a child on Friday, 20 January 2023, and the suspect was arrested on the same day.
