A heart-wrenching tragedy occurred in Nakonde’s Zesco area, where a 4-year-old girl, Favour Nakamba, lost her life after falling into a septic tank.
The child’s father, Morgan Siame, confirmed the news, stating that he received a call about his daughter’s illness but upon reaching home the next day, he found his daughter had fallen into the septic tank.
According to Mr. Siame, Favour was playing with another toddler when she tried to run across a soakaway filled with water, which was covered with an empty sack.
The tragedy occurred while both parents were away farming. The family was taking care of a house near town in search of better opportunities, as is common practice in Nakonde.
The funeral home is located about a kilometer from the scene. The mother of the late Favour Nakamba fainted several times after seeing her daughter’s body in the mortuary.
Mr. Siame expressed that the loss of his daughter has devastated him and he doesn’t know how he will survive without her.
The family is grieving this great loss and condolences go out to them during this difficult time.
