Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that two employees of Golden Peacock Hotel in Blantyre have been dismissed for allegedly attending the funeral of fellow worker whose coffin was dropped at the reception of hotel two days ago.
The two are a chef name withheld and security guard, according to information at hand.
One of the social media influencer Gerald Chavez Kampanikiza has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page.
“Two employees a chef and a security guard have been dismissed at Golden Peacock Hotel, Blantyre, due to the fact that they attended the funeral ceremony of their colleague whose coffin was taken to the Golden Peacock premises yesterday,” wrote Kampanikiza.
On Tuesday, relatives of Joseph Ngulube, a former employee of Golden Peacock Hotel took his body and dumped it at the reception.
The relatives did this to protest against failure by management to shoulder costs for the funeral ceremony and other logistics.
The move forced management to release MK1.2 million to carter for the funeral cossts.
Meanwhile, Management is yet to comment on the matter.
