Leader of the opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa has describe President Lazarus Chakwera as a man who is lost in saying and doing things.

Nankhumwa said this in responding to the State of the Nation (SONA) that President Lazarus Chakwera made last Friday.

In his remarks, Nakhumwa started by saying that the address by Chakwera is not even closer to be called one and the President does not even have a clue of improving the country.

Nankhumwa said Chakwera continues to make promises when he is yet to deliver  and Malawians have a feeling that President Chakwera does not feel the pains the nation is passing through.

However, the leader of opposition asked Chakwera’s regime to deliver and not just make promises by saying that it is unfortunate that the President has not made any substantial action on AIP funds that were misappropriated.

“Money amounting to 109 Billion Kwacha which was approved by the house has failed to do the needful as government is still failing to claim the lost funds which were controversially paid to a butchery,” said Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa further said it is evident that Malawians are sailing through troubled waters and people have lost hope on economic recovery as stipulated by Chakwera as Malawians are suffering not because of war in Russia-Ukraine nor COVID-19 but due to what he terms as poor leadership.

The office of Attorney General has been urged to fast-track corruption cases including the one involving businessman Zunneth Sattar saying because Malawians are waiting for justice on issues of that sort.

Nankhumwa concluded his response to SONA by saying that President Lazarus Chakwera needs to know that through his SONA Malawians have been given fresh promises and that their interest is that the said promises be fulfilled.
