Information reaching this publication indicates that law enforcers in the commercial capital Blantyre have foiled a bank robbery staged by over six armed thieves at Chichiri Shopping Mall.
It is said that the law enforcers received a tip from well-wishers that unknown thieves who were in Honda Freed wanted to raid a bank at Chichiri Shopping Mall.
Upon seeing the police, the armed thieves started exchanging gun fire but the law enforcers outclassed them and in the process apprehended 4 thieves.
It is said that two have escaped from the scene.
Meanwhile, the four injured thieves have been rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital.
