Police in Nsanje are searching for seven suspects and one convict, a Mozambican, who have escaped from lawful custody at Chiromo police post.
According to Nsanje police spokesperson, Sub Inspector, Agnes Zakakoma the cellmates collaborated to escape before executing their plan.
However, they injured a female police officer, stole her smart phone and overpowered another officer on duty when they were escaped from the custody.
Meanwhile, Zakakoma, has confirmed that they suspects and the convict have bolted, and a manhunt has since been launched.
