In a shocking and disturbing incident that has sent shockwaves through the Machinga District of Malawi, two teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 6-year-old child.
According to police reports, Rodrick Injesi, 18, and Friday Mafayiti, 16, both uncles of the victim, Yamikani Fedson, lured the child into the nearby bush on the night of 5-6 March 2023, under the guise of plucking wild fruits.
They did not return home with the child, prompting his parents to launch a search party.
Tragically, the search was unsuccessful, and it was only later that Yamikani’s mutilated body was discovered in the bush.
The suspects had reportedly mutilated the child’s private parts before dumping the body.
The police have arrested the suspects and are currently in custody awaiting trial.
