Police at Kanengo in Lilongwe are keeping in custody a minibus driver, Andrew Layison for allegedly killing a 38-year-old man following a quarrel.

According to Kanengo Police Spokesperson Grecium Ngwira, on Tuesday, March 7 2023 at around 07:00 in morning hours the deceased identified as Douglas Kameta who was a minibus tout went to his duty together with Lyson Kameta duties at Nsungwi Trading Centre.

While there, the two picked a quarrel and a fight broke out for reasons yet to be established and in the process of the fight, Kameta reportedly fell and got unconscious. Said Ngwira

Well-wishers took kameta to Dopa Private Clinic within the area, where he died when he was receiving medical treatment and law enforcers at Nsungwi Police Unit arrested Layisoni who currently stands on murder charges who will soon appear before court to answer the charge.

Douglas Kameta was 38 years-old hailed from Yosewe Village, Traditional Authority Msakambewa in Dowa while Andrew Layison is 29-year-old hails from Bibi Village, Traditional Authority Maganga in Salima.
