Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has returned home from Qatar where he attended the six-day conference for the United Nations Least Developed Nations.
His early return has sparkled debate in Malawi as President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is expected to return home on March 14, 2023.
Many who commented on statement posted by Hakainde Hichilema refused to enjoy a cup of tea after the summit and asked Chakwera to remain and enjoy the cup of tea offered to him.
Hichilema wrote after returning from Qatar: “Arrived back home from a very eventful 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LCDs) whose main objective was to galvanise international support for least developed economies to integrate beneficially into the global economy, through inclusive and sustainable growth and development.
“Thank you once more for your prayers. May God bless our great nation and all its people.”
