Member of Parliament for Zomba Malosa Constituency, Grace Kwelepeta has closed the entry gates at Liwonde Agriculture Development Marketing Corporation (ADMARC) offices in Machinga.
Kwelepeta protested against ADMARC authorities’ failure of supplying maize to her constituency.
She claims that people in her area are dying of hunger, despite minister of agriculture, Sam Kawale promising an equal distribution of the maize to their constituencies.
However Kwelepeta has alleged that government is only supplying maize to Blantyre and Liwonde from the depot.
She added that other 17 members of parliament from Machinga and Zomba had joined the protest.
Meanwhile, ADMARC depot authorities have declined to comment on the matter.
