Police in Blantyre have arrested two men for suspecting committing series of burglary offenses in the city.

Deputy Spokesperson for Blantyre Police, Aubrey Singanyama, has I identified the suspects as Maxwell Kalasa and Hussein Binali.

According Singanyama, on night of 26  February this year when suspects together with their colleagues broke and entered into Fattani building by drilling the wall and managed to get away with a server unit and other assorted items worth over K40 million.

Following the report, the law enforcers instituted investigations which led to the arrest of the two and recovery of some of the stored properties.

Singanyama, added that investigations have revealed that Kalasa, an ex-convict and his colleagues are also connected to a series of other offenses of similar nature at Enshani products where they stole assorted items worth over K2 million and they also broke into a building at BNC where they went away with steel bars.

Meanwhile, the two suspects Maxwell Kalasa aged 32 and Hussein Binami aged 31  are in Police custody and they will be soon appear before court to answer burglary charges.
