President Lazarus Chakwera has landed at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe.

Chakwera was in Qatar where he went to attend the 5th United Nations (UN) Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDC’s).

The President made his way through South Africa where he carried out a number of bilateral engagements.

Chakwera’s return comes at a time the country is experiencing the devastating effect of Cyclone Freddy which has caused heavy flooding in the South.

The floods have so far claimed lives of over 80 Malawians.
