President Lazarus Chakwera has said he is saddened by the loss of life following Tropical Cyclone Freddy which has claimed 190 lives and destroyed dozens of homes in the Southern Region.
He said this at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe upon return from Qatar where he attended the United Nations 5th Conference of Least Developed Countries.
He further proceeded to South Africa where he “carried out a number of bilateral engagements, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
