A male nurse from Chipata in Eastern Province, Eluid Banda, has tragically passed away after being struck by lightning. The incident occurred yesterday at around 3:00 PM in Feni Sub Centre, Chipata.
The 23-year-old former Mwami School of Nursing student, who had successfully passed his General Nursing Council examinations last year, was on duty when the lightning struck him. Unfortunately, Banda died on the spot due to the impact of the lightning.
Banda had completed his internship at St Francis Hospital in Katete and had a promising career ahead of him. During his time at Mwami School of Nursing, he was the president of the students Union and had always been a dedicated and hardworking student.
