Angry mob vandalizes Ligowe police unit in Neno

An angry mob today morning vandalised Ligowe police unit in Neno demanding to deal with two people suspected to have had a hand in the death of a woman who died at the district’s hospital.
The incident happened at Chikungulu village.
The two suspects, the group village headman and another man only being identified as Machemba, were being accused of practicing witchcraft.
Police has to use tear gas to disperse the mob, and later transfer the two to an undisclosed safe place.
Neno police station spokesperson Austin Kamwendo says investigatios on the matter are underway.
