The National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), has expressed its excitement with the completion of the rehabilitation works at Kapichira Hydro-power station saying local industries now have a chance to increase production.

Following the damaging of Kapichira power station due to Cyclone Anna, the cost of production for among many firms increased for them to keep afloat while others reduced their production output.

With news of the completion of the rehabilitation of Kapichira power station, NASMEs Chairperson William Mwale has said that adequate availability of energy enables is of great value for industries produce goods enough for the local market as well as export thus raking in the much needed Forex.

As he explains, with plans to establish local export zones in all the regions, the development further bring confidence among financiers of the projects on the countries commitment to promote the exportation of goods to the international market.
