In a shocking turn of events, a clinical officer in Kitwe’s Nkana East has admitted to raping a nurse in a hospital ward. Contrary to initial reports that the nurse was wearing uniform trousers at the time of the attack, the officer, Dennis Mwale, has claimed that he was “tempted by her hot thighs”.
Mwale reportedly called his supervisors from an unknown hiding place to confess to the crime, stating that he was the sole provider for his siblings and resorted to illegal means to make ends meet. He also claimed that the nurse was sitting carelessly in the ward, which prompted him to assault her.
“I’m sorry for what I did. The sister was careless in the way she was seated,” Mwale said in his phone call. “I even have pictures of her I took her in the clinic resting room.”
The incident has sparked outrage among healthcare professionals and members of the public, with many calling for justice to be served.
