President Lazarus Chakwera has received overwhelming praises for pardoning former minister of homeland security Uladi Mussa and John Mussa who was convicted for possessing bags of cannabis.

This comes as Chakwera pardoned other 200 prisoners including Mussa John as one way of celebrating Easter holiday.

Ralph Jooma Legislator for DPP from Mangochi Monkey Bay, hailed Chakwera’s gesture saying considering Musa was long overdue.

Meanwhile Jooma has indicated that the pardoning of prisoners will help to reduce the challenge of congestion rocking prisons leading to food crisis in various prisons in the country.
