The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has fired it’s governor for the southern region, Charles Mchacha.

Mchacha has been replaced by Thompson Kamangira.

Organising secretary for the party Chimwemwe Chipungu has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

In an interview Mchacha said he has heard of his firing, but is yet to receive an official letter.

Inside sources say Mchacha has been relieved of duty for opposing the endorsement of Peter Mutharika to stand as a presidential candidate for the party in the 2025 poll.
