Member of Parliament for Mwanza Central who is also National Publicity Secretary for Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Nicholas Dausi has asked former President Peter Mutharika to come out and explain to Malawians if he will stand again in the forthcoming 2025 Presidential polls.
Dausi said no endorsements are supposed to be made right now but rather the party should start preparing for a convention where all presidential aspirants including Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika (If he wants to contest) should declare interest rather than the shadowboxing he is doing.
“We lost the election because there was something we did not do right, and this is the time the party was supposed to do soul searching, but alas nothing is happening only divisions because of endorsements and endorsements,” said Dausi.
He emphasised that the party’s constitution should be respected.
Mutharika is yet to comment on the matter.
