Former Minister of Homeland Security Uladi Mussa wants the court to nullify his conviction barely days after President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera pardoned him as part of Easter celebrations.
Mussa’s lawyer Chancy Gondwe has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
If the application is accepted by the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal, the legal position would be that Mussa, who was serving a five-year jail term for abuse of office, was never convicted.
This will give a chance for Mussa, former DPP Vice President for Central Region to re-launch his political career which is currently on death-bed.
