The Federation of Disability Organization in Malawi (FEDOMA) has applauded government for hiring a consultant to develop three strategic documents to guide the operationalization of the disability trust fund.
This follows government announcement that it has hired a consultant to help in the formulation of documents that will be guiding in the use of the disability trust fund.
FEDOMA executive director Symon Munde expressed his gratitude by saying that the development has come in the right time as the organization have been waiting for such development with regard to the provision of the needs of disabled people hence as there will be consideration on best ways of improving their live hood.
However, Munde has since expressed the need for the hired consultant to have deep research on the needs of real disabled people through approaching them for the three documents to bring guarantee achievements in the country.
The three disability trust funds documents to be developed are standard operation procedures, strategic plan and investment plan, and the work of developing the documents is said to take three months for completion.
