One of the vocal politicians in the country who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Governing Council (NGC) member Ken Msonda has described Richard Chimwendo Banda as a topnotch strategist who is managing President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera’s campaign in a calculated move.
Msonda says DPP is lacking people like Chimwendo Banda who have a political spine hence they are pushing in Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to stand again against his wishes and just for their bellies.
“You are busy misleading Mutharika for your own glory and you think it will be easy to defeat MCP with the resources they have now and the strategists in the name of Chimwendo Banda, Mkaka, Gwengwe among others. Stop firing people whom you disagree with instead embrace their views as part of the “restructuring process” as we are heading towards July convention, said Ken Msonda.
Msonda says, failing to put DPP House in order is like giving a free pass to President Chakwera to win again in 2025 without a sweat.
Msonda says Malawians have lost trust in Tonse Alliance government but it is not automatic that a “divided house” can be replacement.
Msonda has further urged the party machinery to call for convention in line with DPP constitution.
