In a surprising turn of events, a retired head teacher from Mpongwe district has left his old wife to marry his childhood sweetheart. Moses Chilumba, a 66-year-old man, tied the knot with Mwangala Lisulo, 58, in a small gathering at a parish in Mpongwe.

According to sources, Chilumba and Lisulo first met in Solwezi in 1967 when their parents worked at a mine. They went their separate ways when Lisulo left for Southern province in 1978, but they reconnected earlier this year in Kalulushi.

The couple reportedly fell back in love and decided to get married, despite the fact that Chilumba was still married to his old wife. The two lovers decided to spend their remaining days together in Mpongwe, where they would start a new life together.

Eyewitnesses report that Chilumba and Lisulo were completely smitten with each other during the wedding ceremony. After being pronounced husband and wife, they shared a passionate kiss, seemingly forgetting the decades they were separated.

The couple was spotted shopping in Luanshya after their wedding before heading back to Mpongwe.
