Health workers at Mchinji district hospital are on sit-in to push for the removal of four senior officials whom they allege display unethical and unprofessional conduct when discharging their duties as frontline managers.

The development comes following the expiry of their 10 day ultimatum the health workers gave two weeks ago, stating that the targeted officials discharge their duties corruptly, and that they verbally intimidate and emotionally harass their subordinates.

One of the angry workers Damiano Makaka told the press that over the past few years, several employees at the institution have complained about the mentioned officers and tried to engage them in a number of forums to amicably address their concerns, but nothing tangible has been done.

But Director of Health and Social Services for Mchinji, Dr. Juliana Kanyengambeta, who is one of the accused, said she will only wait for the responses from authorities since the grievances were already channeled to them.
