The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has revealed that the Labour day holiday has affected delivery of fuel in the country.
This has been contained in a press statement by MERA which has further assured the general public that the situation is however going to improve.
According to the statement, the fuel crisis is expected to normalize within few days as more deliveries are expected from tomorrow, Tuesday.
They have since urged people to avoid panic buying which distorts consumption and performance of the fuel restoration plan.
Meanwhile, there have been long queues at some filling stations in Blantyre on Monday and other areas as motorists scramble for fuel.
Many filling stations in the city have run out of fuel forcing motorists to queue at the few filling stations such as Mount Pleasent Total Filling Station where the product is available.
