A 43 year-old man identified as Limbanazo Joseph has died in a road accident that occurred on Monday 1May 2023 at Chinakanaka trading center along Mulanje—Luchenza municipality.
The accident involved a motor cycle registration number Mj 5480, a Mercedes Benz lorry registration 1820 which was driven by Fardeen Jussab aged 20, from Nkhonya village, T/A Chikumbu in Mulanje.He was driving from Chisitu heading towards Luchenza road.
Upon arrival at Chinakanaka trading center, he was avoiding a stationary vehicle on the left and swerved a bit right where the middle offside body work hooked the pedestrian who eventually fell down and the real offside tyres ran over his head.
Following the impact, the male pedestrian sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Mulanje District Hospital where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Meanwhile, Police in the district are advising road users to adhere to all road traffic rules and regulations to avoid preventable road accidents.
Limbanazo Joseph hailed from Namale village, Traditional Authority Mthiramanja in Mulanje district.
