Wife to the Vice President Madam Mary Chilima has challenged girls against underrating their capabilities.
Speaking Saturday to students at St Mary’s Girls’ Secondary School in Karonga District, Chilima said that girls have the capabilities of pushing to achieve their potential development.
“As your source of inspiration, I can proudly motivate you that being a woman I am now a holder of two Masters degrees and I am still pushing, so don’t be discouraged for being female,” said Chilima.
Head teacher for the school, Martha Chizumira Nyondo commended Madam Chilima for taking her time to motivate and inspire the girls.
“We have 147 students who will be sitting for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and through your motivation we are going to achieve memorable results this year,” Nyondo said.
St Mary’s Girls Secondary School Head Girl, Fortune Nyirenda said the students will continue studying hard to emulate Madam Chilima’s achievements.
