Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested former principal secretary for Ministry of Transport Patrick Zimpita.
Zimpita is accused of instructing Michael Mbewe, a Chief Procurement officer in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works to declare Mota Engil a successful bidder for a tender to design, rehabilitate and upgrade the Marka to Bangula railway section.
Anti-Corruption Bureau spokesperson Egrita Ndala has confirmed the development.
Zampita will appear in court soon.
