An identified African man has died and was seen floating in the Shire river.
The incident occurred on May 13,2023 at Dinde dock in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia in Nsanje district.
Report indicates that Mr Mathias Sande aged 52years of Hapalikusala village in Traditional Authority Malemia in Nsanje district reported the issue to police that unknown male African person of above 50years has been murdered by unknown.
Scene of crime was visited by Nsanje police station detectives accompanied by medical personnel from Nsanje district hospital who confirmed death.
Postmortem was done and established that the deceased died of manual strangulation and then thrown into the river whilst already dead.
Meanwhile body has taken to the mortuary for identification and investigations instituted to arrest the culprits.
Police in Nsanje district are advising anyone with information about a missing relatives to report to the station.
