Authorities are upbeat that an International ICT Expo slated for Wednesday in Lilongwe will address mobile money fraud consumers are facing in the country.
The sentiments have been made as reports from the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) indicate that the country is losing approximately one hundred and twenty million kwacha monthly through mobile money fraud.
Clarence Gama President of ICT Association of Malawi said delegates will among others discuss how consumers can be protected from mobile money fraudsters in an effort to enhance technology use for economic growth.
Gama said it is high time that the country embraces technology to create opportunities for the survival of Malawi’s business while celebrating the Expo which is under the theme “Building business resilience through digital technology.
