Former president Peter Mutharika has submitted a Tropical Cyclone Freddy recovery plan to the UN Coordinator.
Mutharika’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.
According to Namalomba, the submission follows a meeting in March with the UN coordinator Rebecca Adda-Dontoh.
The recovery plan focuses on supporting the recovery needs for the people affected by cyclone and thetotal estimated requirement for disaster recovery and reconstruction needs for the identified and affected sectors is K1.4 trillion, which is equivalent to 1.34 billion US Dollars.
