Blantyre’s Commercial Division High Court judge, Ken Manda, has announced an adjournment to the hearing of an important case until May 30th.
The case involves an injunction obtained by the Forum for National Development (FND) against National Bank of Malawi and NBS Bank, which concerns a loan worth 105 billion Kwacha provided to Khato Civils for the Salima-Lilongwe water project.
During the court session, Edgar Kachere, the lawyer representing FND, requested an adjournment. Kachere cited the need for enough time to prepare and file responses to the defendants’ submissions as the primary reason behind his request.
Simultaneously, the National Bank of Malawi and NBS Bank have taken legal action to be removed from the case.
