Police in the southern region district of Nsanje have instituted investigations into the murder of a 52 year – old – man by the angry mob in the district.
Nsanje Police Station spokesperson Agnes Zalakoma has since identified a deceased as Fatch Brinjal Zambasa who murdered in the night of March 21, 2023 at Kaledzera village in the area of Senior Chief Malemia in the district.
Zalakoma said the deceased was a builder residing at Nchalo in Chikwawa district and on May 20, 2023 he came to his home village at Kaledzera in order to facilitate marriage ceremony of his brothers son and after the ceremony he left home but never returned home until the morning of May 21, 2023 when he was discovered dead and his body burnt. Zalakoma said latter people reported the matter to Nsanje Police Station whereby police officers visited scene of crime.
Zalakoma added that dead body was taken to Nsanje District Hospital and a postmortem revealed that death due to excessive loss of blood secondary to deep cut wounds and fire burns.
Meanwhile police in the district have launched a manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators. Police further advised people avoid taking the law into their own hands because the law will not spared them when arrested.
