Pressure continues to mount on Attorney General Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda as the Mzuzu City Youth Caucus has join calls for his resignation.

Currently, vigils are being at the capitol led by Silvester Namiwa of the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative trying to force Nyirenda to step down for failing to provide evidence of successfully recovering about 750 million kwacha that was paid to a bogus company while purchasing fertilizer under the Affordable Input Programme.

Chairperson of the caucus  Gomezgani Nkhoma has said tha Nyirenda’s actions on the matter demonstrate the failure to live up to his own promises he made to Malawians therefore losing the trust to continue serving them.

According to Nkhoma it is in the spirit of ensuring that public servants live up to their word and deliver on promises made to Malawians that they have decided to stand in solidarity with CIDED in forcing Nyirenda out of office.
