Chiradzulu Police Station has arrested 32 year old John Mussa for being suspected to have sex with an 11 year old girl, a daughter to his sister-in-law.
The incident happened on May 9, 2023 at Nakatha Village Traditional Authority Ntchema.
It is reported that the victim’s mother told the victim to be staying with her aunt (the wife of Mussa) since March 2023.
During the night of the stated date, the suspect entered into the room of the victim and had sex with her as her aunt was away at Mbulumbuzi Market.
The victim revealed it to her aunt on her return and she was told not to reveal it to anyone.
Three days later, the suspect also forced the victim to have sex with him and was caught by the victim’s brother.
Later on the victim escaped to her biological mother who reported the issue to the police and the victim was issued a referral letter to Chiradzulu District Hospital where medical examination confirmed that the victim was defiled.
The suspect will soon appear before the court to answer the charge leveled against him.
John Mussa hails from Napulu Village Traditional Authority Kadewere in Chiradzulu.
