Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Jesus Nation has denied social media reports that he is planning to join politics and contest as President in the 2025 presidential polls.
Recently rumours were all over social media that Bushiri is planning to join forces with Enoch Chihana of the Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) who is currently holding political rallies across the country.
But Bushiri trashed the rumours through a statement posted on his official facebook page.
“We are not politicians and we will never be. We help the poor because God commanded us to love.
“To all those who attach our giving to politics, we have one word for you; “it is not in the nature of politicians to give and that makes me disqualified as a politician,” wrote Bushiri.
He added: “Find another propaganda against us!”
Bushiri returned home in 2020 after freeing South Africa.
