n a tragic incident, Chikwawa police have taken custody of 37-year-old Samson Chinthebe for allegedly stabbing his friend, Jimmy Jackson, to death. The incident occurred at Nkhate trading centre in Chikwawa District on May 23, 2023.
According to Chancy Mfune, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Chikwawa Police Station, Samson and Jimmy had gone to the trading centre to enjoy some drinks. However, their gathering took a dark turn as an argument erupted between them.
As tensions escalated, Samson reportedly pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed Jimmy in the chest. Urgent medical assistance was sought, and Jimmy was rushed to Makhuwira Health Centre. Tragically, medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival, attributing the cause of death to excessive blood loss.
Following the incident, CID Officers from Makhuwira Police promptly apprehended the suspect, Samson Chinthebe, on the same day.
Hailing from Chinthebe Village in the area of Traditional Authority Thomasi in Thyolo, he now faces a murder charge and will soon appear in court to answer for his alleged actions.
